The first U.S. Mitsubishi featuring CarPlay has been unveiled! The upcoming 2017 Mirage will be the first U.S. Mitsubishi to feature both CarPlay and Android Auto. Apple’s in-dash system, CarPlay, has been on the market since 2014, but is only now beginning to become a common feature in vehicles. Mitsubishi currently has CarPlay on the 2016 Pajero, but only in some European countries and Australia.
Introduced at the 2015 LA Auto Show, the 2017 Mirage is a subcompact hatchback, Mitsubishi’s entry level vehicle. Spring of 2016 is when the car will launch, joining other companies’ vehicles which feature CarPlay.
No details on the car’s dash system have been released yet, but there will be options to use a 300-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system with ecoPunch. This would mean low weight and high energy efficiency.
The 2017 Mirage will mark a milestone for the company, being the first U.S. Mitsubishi feauturing CarPlay. You can find out more about the 2017 Mirage at Schaumburg Mitsubishi once it is in production. Apple fans will definitely want to test drive the new Mirage!
