It’s good to treat yourself to something special on your birthday—especially if you’re turning 100 years old. Mitsubishi is celebrating its own centennial this year by treating fans to a special throwback—a recreation of the original Mitsubishi Model A car, Mitsubishi’s first-ever passenger vehicle.
But not everything about this Model A will be exactly like the first one, because what fun would that be? This new Model A, created in combined efforts with West Coast Customs, will be a nod to both the old and the new at the same time. The new Mitsubishi Model A will be built on the most advanced Mitsubishi platform of the present day—that of the Outlander Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). This will include the extremely efficient powertrain, which combines the 2.0-liter gas engine with two powerful electric motors. The Model A will also include the latest Mitsubishi technology and gadgets on the inside.
Unfortunately for fans of the antique styling, the recreated Model A won’t be available for purchasing in any way. But it will be features on an episode of Inside West Coast Customs on the Velocity network. Tune in on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. to catch the show.
In the meantime, if you want to learn more about the highly intelligent powertrain that powers the Outlander PHEV and the new Model A, give us a call at Schaumburg Mitsubishi.
