If there’s one thing that gets an automotive enthusiast excited, it’s when an automaker reveals its plans for expansion. Mitsubishi did just that not long ago and its three-year plan is a doozy, to say the least. Several new Mitsubishi models are on the way, some of which we haven’t even seen yet!
Mitsubishi’s planned expansion aims to increase sales to 1.3 million units worldwide. In doing so, the Japanese automaker will work on reducing development and manufacturing costs. The excitement, however, lingers around the 11 upcoming models.
The Mitsubishi lineup will see six all-new models making their way to the road in the next three years. Five more models will see full redesigns during that time as well. Two of the all-new vehicles have already made their debuts. The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, a compact crossover, and Xpander, a minivan-crossover combination, have already generated quite the buzz.
For the most part, Mitsubishi plans to expand its SUV and truck offerings amid growing demand. While the future of the Mitsubishi sedan isn’t looking too promising, eco-conscious drivers have reason to be excited as well. Plug-in hybrids are coming and, if all goes as planned, will make up a major portion of the brand’s sales.
We here at Schaumburg Mitsubishi can’t wait to see what comes out in the next three years!
