Celebrating the Holidays in Chicago

Christmas lightsLike many cities around the world, the holiday season is a call for celebration in Chicago. Celebrating the holidays in Chicago is easy with so many events and activities to take part in. We here at Schaumburg Mitsubishi would like to share some of our favorite holiday celebrations.

Visitors who take the time to head down to the Lincoln Park Zoo are in for quite a treat. The ZooLights are up for viewing from Nov. 24 through Jan. 7. The annual winter tradition features ice carving demonstrations and hot beverages. The first 1,000 people each night will receive special glasses that make the lights even more spectacular.

The Christkindlmarket is open from Nov. 18 to Dec. 24, and is free to visit. The city’s largest open-air market attracts large crowds. Based on the market founded in Nuremberg Germany in 1545, the Chrstikindlmarket features a variety of German icons, such as nutcrackers and hand-blown ornaments. Visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy authentic German food and drinks.

Morton Arboretum Holiday Lights

If the zoo isn’t quite your style, you can always experience a one-of-a-kind experience at the Morton Arboretum Holiday Lights attraction. Fifty acres of LED lights are hung from the Morton Arboretum trees to create a one-mile path of lights, sound, and video. This year, the Symphony Woods will feature the music of the Nutcracker Suite.
