Mitsubishi vehicles have always offered sleek, modern designs that stand out from the crowd — and the 2018 model year is no exception. That’s why it comes as no surprise that both the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross crossover vehicle and the GT-PHEV Concept car have recently received Good Design™ awards from The Chicago Athenaeum.
The Good Design™ Awards are considered the oldest and most prestigious award program in the world for design excellence and design innovation. Put on by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, they honor products and industry leaders that celebrate contemporary design.
“It is an honor to have our hard work recognized by such a prestigious organization,” said Tsunehiro Kunimoto, CVP of the Design Division for Mitsubishi Motors. “The Eclipse Cross is the first all-new car which features our Robust and Ingenious design philosophy. The GT-PHEV Concept hints at how this direction will shape the next generation of Mitsubishi SUVs.”
Currently, Mitsubishi is undergoing a design renaissance, giving a number of its models a face-lift to reflect its new design language. At Schaumburg Mitsubishi, one of our favorite designs is for the Eclipse Cross. This model utilizes Mitsubishi’s signature DYNAMIC SHIELD front design, sculpted lines, and a high-mounted rear end, and the result is a fresh new look.
